Steve Kemmerling owns a company called Kemmlab. He has 15+ years as a commercial photographer, working with ad agencies and graphic design firms, and 6+ years as a photographic retoucher.

"Pride in the work I produce has been the primary, driving force—the touchstone—with every creative endeavor in which I have been involved. Having been a commercial photographer for over 15 years. I know my way around an image. 6+ years of post-production and retouching work has only added to the formula. I have been passionate about imagery as far back as I can remember. As such, my work in photography, and now retouching, could be referred to as more of a calling than a career choice. I'm a problem solver— whether it's capture, lighting, color, proofing, specs, or a clogged toilet, I'll get the job done."

"Imagery can and should convey so much, a message, an emotion, a commitment to quality, etc. And, you have to be aware that it works on two main levels, conscious and subconscious. Consciously, someone may see an image and think 'wow what a beautiful picture'! Subconsciously, the viewer can be left with a variety of emotions. Everything from an awareness of quality and integrity, to that old familiar 'warm fuzzy' feeling."

"My passion is getting the most out of an image. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I try to push that number closer to five or ten thousand."

"I have worked with Dave Ferris four about 5 years on re-touching his photographs. We have spent countless hours working on pictures together."

"Dave approached me about the chilibean team philosophy. Creating great work, but with the understanding that teamwork was essential. Also, that he believed there was a niche market because the economy was bad and that advertising budgets were dwindling. He keeps his overhead low by using outside talent, only bringing in people when necessary. He does not have a huge staff to feed. I instantly realized he was onto something and I decided to join the chilibean team. I also believe that Dave has an excellent eye for quality, and his management skills from 20 plus years as the owner of Pine to Prairie were essential. His current work as the executive producer of chilibean productions shows his talent."

"Steve is an incredible retoucher. We have developed an excellent working relationship. We can agree to disagree, but in the end we produce an excellent product."
